Fintech start-up secures R10 million investment for contactless payments platform for informal sector

The brief

LipaPayments is an open-source software solution for banks and fintechs allowing small merchants to accept digital payments using NFC and Bluetooth technology. Some of the unique benefits of the system is accepting offline payments which translates to transactions being easily made in rural areas.

Appcentric was engaged to provide public relations support to LipaPayments ahead of their go-to-market launch.

The goal of the PR activities was to build brand awareness and a credible reputation and corporate profile to a select audience of potential corporate customers and media stakeholders, primarily located in South Africa and Nigeria.
